Need to find guitar lessons..? January 23, 2010

I thought that playing a real guitar would be as easy as playing the air guitar! Boy was I in for a big surprise. I talked my mom into paying for lessons and I ended up just getting nervous playing in front of my teacher. Seems like it got worse every week. I struggled to try and remember how to get my fingers in the right position and then felt like such a loser.

I know my mom was bummed when I quit those weekly lessons but I just couldn’t hack it. I ended up just forgetting about the guitar and how stoked I was at the beginning to dive in and learn it, you know..? I went out and left that guitar sitting there up against my bedroom wall for like 3 months while I did other stuff.
I got in this fight with my girlfriend and she brought up how I shouldn’t be quitting stuff and apply myself more to get what I wanted in life. Well first off how did she think she had the right to say that sort of stuff to me..? Well anyway, I thought about it and decided to try to learn to play that guitar again and really stick with it. I knew I probably wouldn’t play like some genius overnight or anything, but I knew that deep down I could do it if I gave myself another chance.
This time though, I thought that I would try to find guitar lessons online where I could study and everything in private without worrying about getting embarrassed and all. So listen, I think you’ll really love this course on playing the guitar. You’ll be able to go through the pretty awesome video lessons whenever you want. On your schedule, not somebody else’s. And nobody to watch and stress you out till you’re ready to play in front of them.
You can download these lessons and watch them a million times if that’s what it takes to get things into your head. You’ll see all of these lessons are awesome cause they give you really great closeups to show you exactly how to play this chord or that one. And there are some cool games that really push you to learn even quicker so you’ll be able to play stuff pretty fast and not be tempted to quit like I did before.
And yes you’ll even learn drills- not the most exciting stuff but hey it’s part of learning. And don’t worry, if you’ve been playing for awhile and want to add to your skills, then I think you’ll be pretty happy with the lessons you get here.
